Notes: Double dry-hopped with 6 lbs per barrel of Galaxy and Mosaic, this is our hoppiest IPA ever. It’s a juicy, hazy, dank double IPA with notes of passion fruit, mango, pineapple, starfruit, papaya, and tangerine.

Pours a nice pale gold color with medium haze, lots of bubbles and very persistent lace. Smells of mango and bready malt up front with a lot in the back -- lemon, orange, key lime pie, more. Taste is a little sweet and winey up front, and then you remember it's an 8.0%, so of course it is. And it does hide that high alcohol rather well on successive sips when the citrus and especially banana bread comes out. Pleasant finish, a little sweet & sour. Love the packaging! Psychedelic rock & roll, baby.

Overall this is a very fine beer, but like most Imperials and DIPAs, I feel like it could be even better if that ABV was dialed back a bit, which would fade the sweet bready/winey elements.

Pours a beautiful very cloudy bright gold color with a one finger white dense head. Aroma is floral and lightly sweet with pineapple, tangerine and banana bread notes (that's just what I get, probably the papaya notes). The flavor is distinctly away from citrus-y flavors, with a warm, ester-ish lead that simmers down into a papaya/tangerine finish. Hard to pin down these flavors but it is very tasty and pleasant. Feel is very soft and very effervescent. There is a bit of an alcohol burn in this one but I don't seem to mind it too much (I'm not a fan of that in general).

This is very good and not a run of the mill NEIPA in terms of flavor profile, though in feel it is very much so. Well worth a try if you happen to see one on the shelves. You will not likely be disappointed..

Pours hazy, orange brown in color with 1/4 inch head. Taste is a fruit salad bouquet highlighted by mango and papaya. Medium body, slightly bitter with low carbonation. Easily the best Mighty Squirrel beer that I have had. Loads of unique fruit flavor. Would certainly get this again.

Drinking from a tulip, canned 3.26.20, consumed 4.12.20

*I have had this beer about 20 - 30 times and some of my commentary will reflect past experience in addition to my current tasting

L: varies with batch and age, this one is a little over 2 weeks old and on the brighter golden-yellow side. Note that some batches, often older cans, lean darker toward tan-gold. All are quite turbid as expected for the style. White semi-fluffy 1" head after aggressive pour. Head half life in my glass was short-lived at about 2 min.

S: unique. This beer drew me in and made me a believer in MS. But the taste really echoes and amplifies the nose. Dark tropical fruit, zesty citrus, and bready malt character. A slow deep draw as it warms reveals a candy "pop" note not unlike pink Starburst.

T: Peach and papaya, some spicy white pepper on the finish, strong malt presence and bready/honey sweetness throughout. Alcohol is detectable but not overtly present. Perhaps mild melon and passionfruit character and piney and floral notes as well. This beer is really tasty and something else going down.

F: solid bready chew and full bodied, very nice

O: buy a fresh four pack and try it, or get it on tap at the brewery - I recommend this beer as I think it stands up well to many of the DIPA offerings from top-rated New England breweries. It has an interesting complexity and nice balance of unique hop character - both floral and peppery but also juicy and tropical - complemented by a potent malt backbone.

It is sort of like a hazy, super hopped, flavorful barley wine.
It is a dirty straw color and the head, what little of it, was gone quick
Pine, herbal, floral on the nose
Sweetness balanced by hops very well. apparently also by double dry-hopped with 6 lbs per barrel of Galaxy & Mosaic hops
Nce carbonation, natural. a good one for sipping.

Surprisingly easy drinking Double IPA, with an ABV of 8 percent it was hidden extremely well behind the subtle fruity flavors. Solid carbonation, not to heavy on the stomach. This may be my new go-to Double IPA, that is when I do drink them.

From the 16 oz. can dated 12/12/19. Sampled on Dec 22, 2019.

The look is a murky. milky, opaque yellow color underneath a foamy and lasting white head.

Pungent aroma of citrus and tropical fruit with a cereal barley grain base.

The mouthfeel is medium to full and it is smooth on my tongue.

There is a quick sweet and fruity character in the taste that evolves into a biting, harsh lingering bitterness.

Disappointing. Upon opening the 16 oz can, almost no hop aroma. I sniffed again after pouring into pint glass. It is cloudy. Very cloudy. Too much so for me. I love most cloudy IPAs or APAs, especiallY New England style. But this was so dark and cloudy it didn’t look like any ale.

Overall taste and mouthfeel are OK but not close to my favorites.

On-tap at Miller's Ale House, Watertown, MA

A: The beer is very hazy yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that left a collar around the edge of the glass and some lacing down the sides.
S: Moderate aromas of passionfruit and pineapple are present in the nose.
T: The taste has stronger flavors of tropical fruits—particularly mangos and papayas along with notes of pineapples. there is a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPA is packed with lots of tropical flavors and also does a very good job at hiding its alcohol.

Canned 18 days ago.

L -- Pours a very hazy amber orange body with two fingers of off-white head produced with moderate pour. Excellent retention and lacing. Looks a lot like the recent Trillium forays into amber-hued hazy IPAs but with a better head
S -- Orange creamsicle, lime sorbet, blueberry, passion fruit, sour candy. Has this mild vegetal off-note that I think is coming from the yeast character but it's hard to pin down
T -- Deep earthiness, dry pine resin, green mango, zesty grapefruit, and that same weird yeasty off note. It's not exactly creamsicle, nor is that weird sourness that NEIPAs sometimes have... whatever it is, it detracts from the rest of the beer
F -- Medium mouthfeel, medium carb. Moderate fluffiness. Decent but not overbearing bitterness on the finish
O -- With a little more ironing out this beer could really go places. Seems to be a pretty similar hop profile to Trillium's headroom (roughly same amount of hops per bbl, with the same combo of galaxy, mosaic, columbus). Good price @$12/4-pack of 16oz cans

Personally I think this beer competes with others in its category. I prefer this than most other Dipas. No back end, smells excellent, strong, and is a great beer to enjoy. Poured into a snifter.

I’m just glad I live five minutes from their new brewery. Will make this a regular in rotation

16 oz can into wine sniffer. No date.
Wonderful cloudy golden orange look leads to a tropical nose that leads with pineapple and tangerine. Taste follows, tropical fruit up front and then a nice dry grapefruit ending. Feel is smooth and creamy. Overall, a great NE juice bomb IPA with great finish. Will get it whenever I can find it.

Tried a new one from the singles shelf. Warm sitting 16oz can dated 6.26.18 but what the heck. My hatred of squirrels chomping on my maple trees and a love for a childhood friend Rocky the Flying Squirrel drew to this DIPA. Even though it may have been sitting a while I gave it a shock chill in the freezer. It still behaved as a good beer should. Great cloudy hop beer color, aroma, taste, feel, lacing to the bottom and overall satisfaction of drinking a quality brew. I'll look for this in the future as it is rotating.

Dated 7/17/18 on the bottom of the can, 4 weeks since brewing.

Pours a nearly opaque bright orange with a finger of creamy off-white head. Nose of predominantly spicy tropical fruit and complex undertones; notes of pungent black pepper, passion fruit, apricot, earth, dark herbal tea leaves, very slight dark fruit (plum?), over-ripened papaya and rustic toasted malt. Taste matches up perfectly to the nose, big pepper, tropical fruit, dark earthy herbal tea and a sweet rustic malt. Even some of the slighter notes like the dark fruit are still detectable in the back end of the sip. Medium body with a little bit of hop stickiness, slightly below average carbonation. After drinking about half the can, I'm also getting a little bit of chalkiness that is building up. Overall, a complex mix of aromas and tastes that don't drown each other out, even with the pungent pepper on top. If this is the direction of Mighty Squirrel, I can't wait to check out their brews in the future.

Cloudy, dirty gold color. Small head. Intermittent streaky lace.

Both floral and biting hop aroma.

The flavor is juicy but not in a New England IPA sort of way because the hop isn't nearly as biting. The base is sweet and reminiscent of grapefruit juice which brings out the hop portion. The aftertaste is relatively balanced. The body and the carbonation are both higher than most.

Pint can. Canned on 5/17/18 opened on 6/5/18

A jazzy looking gold and copper liquid, slightly hazy, big carbonation with an equally formidable, all white frothy foam cap. Clumpy and thick, sloww dissipation. Fat lacing.

A very earthy and hearty scented hop aroma with some decent herbal malty tones riding side, by side. Crispy, herbal wheat, corn husk, and freshly crushed up hop cones deliver the goods to the nose. Sweet and earthy floral notes with peppery citrus fruits come forth later on. As the liquid warms, the dense, tropical fruitiness aroma pops right out. Pineapple and lemmon zest for sure.

Whoa..! Hold-up! What a crazy, dense and complex first gulp ! Crispy, grainy, earthy malty flavor's pop out all over the place. A bit of peppery heat comes next, as the very dry-earthy hop taste starts to take over. Fresh, snappy earth toned hops really crush it! Layers and layers of hop flavor here folks. Tangy and snappy wild fruits and herbs seem to blend together seemlessly. Peppery citrus and bitter, herbal hop punch happens at the end. Galaxy, Mosaic and Columbus work wonders together and deliver the fresh-hoppy earthy punch I love so much. The hops are both dry and juicy in affect.

The mouthfeel and texture is also very complex, as the snappy, earthy toned malt starts out crisp, the hops make it very dry in the middle and then a certain juicy, slickness finishes it off. I feel like this DIPA is endlessly dry-hopped, not sure...but it sure feels and tastes like it's been extensively dry hopped.

I feel like this one has phat complexity and is unique enough to stand out amoung the plethera of New England born DIPA's available right now. Top shelf grade.

Well made double IPA. Great mouthfeel and a hop presence on the back end that lingers. Features notes of orange, mango, pineapple and grapefruit. Sediment on the last pour, remained cloudy on appearance all the way through.

No alcohol on the taste, really easy drinker for a dipa. Great addition to their lineup and an enjoyable brew in the style!
