Canned 8/28/20
I always see this one at the liquor store but generally avoid it for the price tag, but I was feeling adventurous the other day. Let's see if I made the right choice
Like many berliners, this is really attractive on the pour, with a slightly cloudy, deep ruby red glow with a finger of pink tinted head that fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
The nose here really reminds me of Lindemans Framboise, as it's primarily juicy raspberries. I don't pick up on any kiwi, but there are other notes of strawberry, crackery malt, and a touch of raw sugar
The front end is dominated by tart raspberry and strawberry, but nothing too puckering. However, a puckering lactic sour comes in right before the swallow, livening it up and preparing for finishing notes of dry berries and wheat
While this is light bodied and refreshing, the sweetness and lack of carbonation makes it a bit too sticky for my liking, but it is still quite drinkable
This is a pretty good berliner, just not worth the $4 I paid for the can. I guess that can be chalked up to hype and location of the brewery. Oh well, still tasty

The first sour that I've ever tasted and thought "Wow, I need to get my hands on some more of this!".

Sour Face
16 oz. can
Jet Ink on the bottom of the can: Bottled 6/12/20
Served in a glass flute
I picked up a single of this beer earlier this evening for $3.49 for the pint
Pours a bright and vibrant red with a foamy white head on top that dissipates rather quickly
Fruity nose with some funky whiffs
First sip uncovers fruity flavors, think a strawberry puree mixed with Welch's white grape juice. The finish is chalky and dry to uncover a blend of tartness and juicy flavors. This beer was reminiscent of a liquid version of those Fun Dip sugar stick candies you'd have when you were a kid.

Wow. All I can say is this beer tastes like celery. Very pungent celery flavor, if you love celery so much that you want to drink it, this beer is for you. I don't know why it says raspberry on the can, because it literally tastes exactly like celery.
