Originally brewed in 2019 to celebrate the first birthday of co-founder Henry's son, Luke! This lighter-bodied oatmeal stout is brewed with Luke's favorite food - milk and oats, and has an aroma of fresh-baked bread, toffee, raisins, and dark roasted coffee. Lucky Luke comes in at 3.5% yet has a surprisingly creamy, rich body carrying a robust chocolate flavor with a clean, dry finish. The drawing on the label was, according to Luke, a self-portrait he did earlier this year, and if you swipe right, you’ll see he drew himself being carried by his Aunt Gigi!

Canned 2023/11/19, even though I just picked this up at the brew pub in Boston
Pours a rich thicker frothy 3 finger brown head with fair to lower retention, starts to collapse on itself, a touch of lacing, very dark molasses color
Nose some tamed roast, roasted malts with a hint of coffee, dark chocolate and cocoa dust, mild baking spices, a bit of a sweet creamy chocolate oatmeal with some caramel on top
Taste starts on the mild sweeter side, sweet with a hint of caramel, some milk chocolate into dark chocolate, more roast but again subdued as it hints at acrid roast but never gets there, burnt coffee is there on the back end and touch of creme brulee, bitterness from the roast and spicy hops that somewhat dominate the finish, creamy milky center almost like a milk stout more than oatmeal stout
Mouth is creamy milky and med bod, med carb
Overall not bad, this seems a lot more like a sweet-milk stout than oatmeal stout, the roast level borders more like American stout, it's a decent beer but not really sure where they were going with it as it goes in many different directions

A real nice oatmeal stout that was reminiscent of some Sam Smith beers I've had. A dark beer with a Guinness-like appearance, but the frothy head is brown opposed to cream colored. Rich chocolate, nutty and toasty aromas are present as you lift to the nose. The smooth creamy beer easily flows down your throat and the dark chocolate flavors are apparent. A roasted nutty aftertaste lingers. A fine stout that satisfies.

T -- Largely follows the nose. Quite roasty, bit of oatmeal character.
