Poured into a 13 oz tulip glass canned on 10/14/21. Pours near pitch black with 2 plus finger sticky mocha head, that leaves thin streaks of lace with really impressive retention. 4.5

Aroma is peanut butter and chocolate, really exactly what you would expect, maybe a hint of vanilla. 4.25

Taste follows peanut butter and chocolate, one dimensional in a great way. 4.25

Mouthfeel is above average, not dry or sticky, soft carbonation, and at 8% it goes down really easy. 4.25

Overall a really tasty beer and would go great with a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. 4.25

Pours opaque, dark brown in color with one quarter inch head. Taste is big peanut butter, chocolate syrup and roasted malt. Roasty, low carbonation with heavy body. Nice base beer. I like how this is not a super sweet mess. Tasty and subdued. I like it.

Drank on tap at Mighty Squirrel Brewing Co., Waltham, MA
Served in a snifter

The beer poured an oily and viscous, absolute pitch black. Super shimmery looking in the glass. A thin, mocha colored crown topped the liquid, but it quickly dissolved.

The aroma was terrific. Peanut butter notes came through big time. There was a strong mocha presence as well. Lots of creamed and sugared coffee. Bit of milk chocolate too. Sweet but not excessively so for the style. Subtle roasted malt notes were apparent as well.

The flavor profile was a bit astringent initially but smoothed out with time. Again, the peanut butter was quite apparent. Big roasted malt presence on the front end. Nice creamy lactose and vanilla notes in the center. Bitter espresso appeared on the back end and crescendoed in the finish. There was an intense roasty and boozy quality too. As the beer warmed, the roast, booze and bitterness mellowed significantly.

As good as both the aroma and flavor profile were, the mouthfeel was even better. Super rich and dense. Completely full bodied for the style. The beer contained a fine, moderately effervescence that felt uber creamy and slick on the palate. This texture reminded me of heavy whipping cream.

This was my first time trying anything by Mighty Squirrel, and I was quite impressed. I will be sure to keep an eye out for these folks in the future.
