Johnny Cash, Darth Vader, coffee - they all look good in BLACK! That's why we decided to make a lager so dark the only light you’ll find is in the body. Vanta is our smooth, semi-sweet, refreshing schwarzbier with a crisp finish. Reminds us black goes with everything!

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance -The beer pours a deep brown, close to black color with a one finger head of thick tan colored foam. The head has a great level of retension, fading slowly and leaving spiderweb lacing on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is quite heavy of a roasted and toasted smell mixed with lots of coffee and molasses. Along with these aromas comes notes of toffee and brown sugar along with some char and a touch of nut.
Taste – The taste begins with a deep roasted malt flavor paired with some lightly bitter coffee and a touch of molasses and some nuttiness. The taste is rather dry upfront, but as the taste advances some other sweet notes of toffee and brown sugar join in. At the same time the coffee gets a bit more bitter, all while light earthy and herbal notes join in. With a bit of char and smoke at the very end, one is left with a very roasty and toasty taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium to thicker for a 5.0 % brew with smooth feel and a moderate carbonation.
Overall – A rather nice roasty and toasty, moderately bitter, but very approachable dark drinking. Rather well crafted overall.

Upward cascade of beige bubbles on the initial pour, but it recedes very quickly and leaves no lasting lace. Near black color where no light passes.
Mellow, darker malts but without any burnt or chocolate aromas. I pick up on some wet stone smells. Light iron odor.
There are some burnt raw black patent malt flavor, as expected. I also get a touch of smoked malt as well resulting in an ashen flavor. The body is appropriately thin with neutral carbonation. The aftertaste is more of the same, in a good way.
