Ruby amber color and clear. Nearly no head and certainly no lace.
Caramel with light alcohol nose.
Boozy and malty to start. I don't pick up any Belgian yeast, though. It's similar to a stronger Scotch Ale or Barleywine than a Quad. Very rich body but not sweet. The swallow and aftertaste are simply alcohol warmth and little else. Not quite a whiskey, this is the closest beer equivalent.
