I have not drunk many of these beers. I am excited to try more of these beers in the future. The beer is wine barreled aged I am eager to see what changes happen to this beer. Took the cap off and the beer oozed all over. I believe this beer is bottle conditioned aged. The beer is 45 degrees and served in a tulip glass The beer produced a one finger white creamy and foamy head. The retention of the head is poor and dissipated quickly. Sadly, the beer should have better head retention. The color of the beer is a rusty copper brown with bronze hues. The clarity of the beer is fair. Overall The beer's appearance is good. 3.75
I first detect a spicy hop with caramel notes. Next, I smell, wine, wood, earthiness, malty sweetness, lightly toasted malts, bready, biscuit, and tart cherries. I the aromas of a sour note like vinegar but not waft from the glass. The hops profile in the beer are grassy, herbal and a touch of pine. The aromas in beer are pungent and aromatic. 4.5
The nose of the beer is far better than the taste. I was expecting something tantalizing and juicy I got subdued flavors. First, I detect tart lemons, caramel, and dank. Next, I taste subtle malt sweetness, herbal, wine, grass, wood, and biscuit notes. 4
The mouthfeel of the beer is dry and fizzy. 4
The body of the beer is medium, high carbonation, and a medium finish.
I was hoping for a beer that had harmony and balance. I got a beer that is haphazard. The beer was bottled on 04/17/17. The bottle condition of the beer gave this beer at time an unpleasantness to swallow. I think the beer is severely yeasty at other times tasty. The beer is okay I will not revisit this beer.

750mL bottle, part of the onslaught upon my porch committed by WesMantooth. Aged in Cabernet barrels, bottled on April 7, 2017, per the label.
Poured into a big Tripel Karmeliet glass, this was initially a foam gusher upon opening, but quickly settled down to allow pouring. A hazy, dark burnt orange color. Lots and lots of off-white foam, lots of lace.
Tart, slightly funky, slightly vinuous nose to this.
More complex than in the nose. In addition to the tartness and winey character (although the barrels were Cabernet, white wine grapes are what it reminds me of) noted above, there's a little bit of spiciness in the background.. Things are very lightly wrapped in a very thin layer of sour funkiness. Finish is slightly crisp.
Medium bodied, with a coating mouthfeel.
Really delicious stuff. It's a lot of beer in this size amount, however. Kinda wish I shared it. Would've been a good beer for a bottle share. Then again, the way the Seahawks are playing, perhaps 750mL of everclear would be appropriate! Thanks, Corey!

Bottle claiming "wine barrel aged" dated September, 2016:
Pours with a burnt orange and hazy body. Head starts as medium loose bubbles, but ends in a creamy covering for the beer. Thick collar holds the entire beer, with minimal lacing.
A light wild ale tartness is in this beer's nose as it presents itself to me. This pervades through the other notes of light honey sweetness, white grapes, Granny Smith apple, and a little clove or maybe even cinnamon??
There is a wine-like nature to this beer, maybe a good marrying with the wine barrel. The tartness comes to me as lime tartness up front. Next comes a citrusy white wine aspect which is followed finally by some classic farmhouse notes. The carbonation level is nice, leading to a medium light but soft feel.
I quite enjoyed this beer. The light tartness, little farmhouse, and wine influence seemed to marry well to my palate.
