Classic acorn to red with a thick khaki head dying to a fine film and curled collar that leaves tall walls of lacing.

The smoke is mild--actually very mild compared to the many rauchs I've had recently--allowing plenty of bready, nutty malt to express itself, at a level more associated with whole grain wheat and almost pumpernickel. It's also got a bitter, herbal bite in the finish, pairing with a touch of corn nut. As it warms, I actually get a hint of roast.

The medium body has an airy, fluffy carbonation, finishing tangy and almost semi-wet.

What an excellent name, though, right?!

32 ounce crowler, filled on 6/2/20. Served in a dimpled mug, the beer pours a reddish/brown color with about an inch light tan head that stuck around for a long time. Good amount of lacing, too. Aroma is nice but a bit subtle, the brew smells like smoked malt/meats, toasted malt, toffee and dark bread. Taste pretty much follows the aroma but has a little more kick to it, but there's also a hint of spicy/herbal hops too. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit slick and easy to drink with a good amount of carbonation. I thought this was a solid brew, but I also wish it was smokier. With that being said, it's worth trying if you come across some.
