Pours a cloudy, golden amber coloration with a large, frothy head. Smells of doughy, biscuity malt and citrus/stone fruit hops, with notes of tangerine and apricot. Taste is a good balance of doughy, biscuity malt and fruity, slightly herbal and spicy hops with citrus and stone fruit notes of tangerine and apricot, as well as some red apple, black pepper and a subtle tartness also coming through. Finishes with a very light bitterness and some tangerine and apricot lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a light body and medium/strong carbonation.
This does just what it says on the tin, being a very refreshing summer beer that goes down real easy in the heat. It may be a little light-bodied, but that's to be expected of such a low-ABV brew and there are some rather nice, understated citrus and stone fruit notes to this, while I really like the dry character in combination with the subtle tartness and spicy accents here. The kveik yeast is certainly coming through, offering some tart esters that fit the flavor profile rather well. Overall, this makes for an enjoyable, quite refreshing summer ale with just a hint of farmhouse character to it.
