Pours a slightly cloudy, pale golden coloration with a large, frothy head. Smells of doughy malt and grassy, floral hops, with a distinct citrus note coming through as well. Taste is a great balance of doughy malt and grassy, floral, fruity, slightly spicy hops, with citrus notes of tangerine and lemon peel, as well as just a hint of black pepper also coming through. Finishes with a light/medium bitterness and some doughy malt, grassy hops and distinct citrus accents lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a light/medium body and carbonation.
Just like their Weizen, this makes for a very modern, hoppy interpretation of the style, which works a lot better here than it does for the Weizen though. While I think that it could have done with just a bit of a firmer malt body, there is still a very pleasant balance of malt and hops to this, with those distinct citrus accents adding a very pleasant tang here and making it feel quite easy-drinking and refreshing. Overall, this makes for an enjoyable, quite modern take on the Helles style that is well-balanced. zesty and goes down very easily. However, I also can't help but think that 3€ seems like a very steep price for a small bottle of a beer like this.
