When it comes to brewing, we take things slow. Our full-bodied Amber is slow-aged with Northern White Oak, bringing out the rich flavours of cluster and Hallertau hops, roasted rye malt and a special distiller's malt. Slightly woody and surprisingly drinkable, our Amber proves that crafting strong beer is an art form worth the effort – and the wait.

Ingredients: Water, barley malt, rye malt, hops, yeast

Tasting Notes:Hint of spice, smooth caramel, slightly woody
Served Best At:9 ºC
Pairs well with:

Snifter

Smoky Barbeque

Rich Cheeses

Homemade Chowder

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. My first beer from the Kitchener, Ontario brewery.

It was easy to gravitate towards this one after a long day - 6.8% and a lager, what better way to wind down and warm the senses?

A: Pouring into a pilsner glass produces a clear, brownish amber with a decent head that quickly dissipates to tight foam.
S: Light, distinctly caramel with some sour notes
T: Malty with bitter aftertaste, not much fizz after the first few sips
MF: Smooth but forgettable

Overall, not too memorable, but surprisingly smooth and light on the palate for its ABV.

A- This one pours a chill hazed coppery color with orange hues. The head starts out a good 2 fingers thick and quickly dissipates into a thin layer of tight wee bubbles! The lacing of this brew isn't bad at all either with many small and it eventually leaves behind some watery film....interesting......

S- I find hints of metal lingering in the aromas throughout, but after I have become used to it, there is brown sugar and/or toffee sweetness about it that is dominant. There is a certain yeasty/biscuity quality as well....no real hop bitterness on the finish.

T- Very malt forward and the sweetness is upfront throughout the taste. Cooked brown sugar, caramel, toffee, molasses and hints of vanilla are the main flavors found here.....the finish does offer the bittering hop flavor that I was looking for....it cleanses the palate rather well from the slightly cloying nature of the sweet flavor.

M/O- Medium bodied, and very silky smooth. It's a decent beer but nothing overly special about it. I find it could be something to enjoy as a session brew and I think it's better than the average amber lager. I may or may not seek this one again...it's good however.

Can. Pours amber with a thick head. Fruity nose with a metallic note. Lots of carbonation. Taste follows the nose. Not a pleasant beer.
