16 oz can, 11/14/19, Goose Island Nonic Pint.
"Epstein Didn't Kill Himself" haha
The sole reason I traded for this can.
Has a very oxidized color, or I guess if you want to call it honey, it is somewhat like that, but it's got the dark earthy sun tea color. I think maybe it wasn't packaged properly. Anyways the head stays, and starts at 2 fingers and recedes to a thick ring with connected splotchy lacing.
Honey is definitely apparent in the nose, with some sweet bready malt, caramel roll, and earthy/herbal traditional hops. Some slight Budweiser skunk too.
Flavor is nearly like a coffee blonde. There's a lot of caramel malt, with some balsa wood and coffee grounds, then it brings herbal tea-like hops, honey, a burst of flower garden, then clove, slight bubblegum, and lemon rind. The finish is of dill tea. It does bring a lot of flavor but the flavors don't seem to jive well.
Feel is slick and oily, with a big carbonation and lots of nice warming alcohol.
Overall, not sure what to think about it, it's decent enough, it's just not what I was expecting. It's not really refreshing or light like your usual blonde, but it leans more towards a hoppy English Mild or a Red IPA. It's not my favorite.

Gold-amber with a strong head. A bit deep for blondes, but quite pretty.
Smells like malt and honey.
Up front; malt, honey, bubblegum. Orange blossom. A little bit of alcohol on the finish, perhaps some tart, and some hops, earthy maybe.
At 7 to 8% , this is quite unlike most blondes. This beer is heavy, yet almost in direct contradiction, refreshing and inviting. It's unique, and quite good.

This sweet, smooth blonde, almost a scottish ale sensation, is by far and away the best I've had, and blond ales are a big thing around here in Fresno these days.
