people are raving about this one, but i didnt find it all that distinct or amazing, well made beer for sure, i should start with that, but the malt and the hops sort of meld together in a sweet and citrusy way, where grain tannins and sugars combine with the hop oils and fruity properties to make a sort of muddled large brew. the alcohol is well hidden for a big ipa, and it tastes real solid, but the nuance isnt there and there is some residual sweetness that i dont love. medium body though and well charged on the bubbles, it has a lot going for it too, and despite being a little samey. i feel like a lot of the beers they make here are so unique, but this one is a little more run of the mill, like others could have made it. maybe something new zealand on the hop front, although there is enough grain here that its a little tough to tell. a fine example of the style although for my palate its a bit under attenuated and residual. these guys do better with the lower gravity stuff in my general opinion, for whatever its worth. in tandem with goldspot, whom i also like...
