Crowler filled 2/26/22; drank 2/27/22 @ the Yarchives.

Black/brown appearance.

A rough pour yielded a small dark tan head; a thick curtain of tree-rung lace.

Dark roast coffee bean, dark chocolate & faint hazelnut notes in the nose.

Creamy, thick mouthfeel.

Dark roast coffee bean & coconut flavors up front; dark chocolate & faint booze heat notes on the finish.

Much stronger on the coffee than the hazelnut; a nice stout, if a bit too sweet for my tastes these days.

Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into my snifter. The beer pours a jet black color with no light passing through my glass. A creamy beige head foams up about 1.5 cm. This foam is densely packed and fades to a sturdy edge layering and one large island in the center of my glass. I get a bit of dense lattice when I swirl my glass.
The aroma is rich coffee grounds with some brown sugar and roasted malt and a bit of sweet nutty hazelnut. I really enjoy the hazelnut additive in a dark beer. I dont get any hops nor hints of the ABV on the nose.
First sip reveals a medium body with a soft texture and very spacious and gentle carbonation. Beer coats my palate a little, but generally drinks pretty easy. Feels nice, wish the body was just a hint thicker.
Flavor is what the nose advertises with roasted malts, coffee grounds, brown sugar, and a good dose of nutty and sweet hazelnut. This nutty flavor lingers after each sip. No hops anywhere and the booze of this beer is well hidden.
I am really enjoying this one and glad to have swapped for it. I would gladly drink again.

This tastes really good, super coffee dominant of course but the hazelnut is supposed to blend. Feel is the main problem its thickening as it warms but still kinda thin
