Can from Uptown Market. This is apparently an obscure style from Kottbus. 3 weeks in oak, 4 weeks in stainless.
A clear orange with a thin white head that falls off leaving little lacing, this looks solid. The nose is grainy, fruity, with a lovely, rich Munich malt character, rich and bready. Mild caramel, mild grainy acidity, lemon and orange peel. The combination of raw pilsner malt and Munich malt is unique and fun. The palate opens with a blend of mild herbal bitterness and the bready flavors from Munich malt. This segues to a raw, rustic pilsner malt character paired with a touch of oatmeal. Creamy, bitter, with mint, lemon and orange peel on the finish. A light acidity is present, though I can't quite tell where it's from. Unique, fun beer.
