Bottle.
No head. Thick black color.
Cognac, raisins, figs, molasses, charred barrel, grapes, plums, bourbon, wet oak, and vanilla. Warming, smooth. Can’t believe this is almost 17%. Drinks like 12.

500mL bottle from April 2022, taken to-go from ChurchKey in Washington, DC. Really a delight for cognac and brandy barrel ageing fans. Moderately thick but thinner than expected for the ABV, with Revolution's VSO offerings being a decent comparison on mouthfeel. Modestly vinous with oak tannins, well balanced with fruit notes contrasting with roasted malt. Dark chocolate throughout the experience.

Had on tap. Pitch black body, brown cap that fades into a ring quickly. Big cognac and bourbon led nose with semi-sweet chocolate, caramel, dark fruit and rich oak. Taste nails the cognac and bourbon balance, adding to the powerful notes that were detected in the nose are accompanying vanillins, buttery toffee, leather, and a whisper of rye. Feel is very boozy without being hot, large, heavy and chewy, barrels slap and then richly elevate. Cognac barrel lovers unite!
