Dark pour, with brown and golden-flecked hues. Thin head of carbonation that is quick to settle.
The nose is fantastic; loads of Charleston Chew vanilla and milk chocolate. Lightly fruity, but inviting and very balanced. Very stout-forward.
The palate really features more barleywine; solid barrel integration of oak and stewed fruits. Mild esters and subdued sweetness. Finish is a touch short but has some good balance of richness, fruit, and barrel.
Fairly thin, but not off-putting. There's decent heat and very subtle esters. Accompanying the whisper of bitterness is burnt caramel and vanilla.

Pour syrupy black with no head save some tan islands. Smells of molasses, brown sugar barley, dark fruit, vanilla, oak, slight earthy tones to malt. Taste is much simpler: malt, barrel, and barley starring, dark fruit and vanilla lingers. Feel is sludgy, robust, smoothness is intermittent, very warm with booze. Good, but it’s no HBM series standout
