16 oz. Can
Poured into a Tree House glass a very nice dark brown color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy one-finger plus tan head, which also leaves a pretty nice medium-size island/oil slick, and some nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is pretty nice, malty, hoppy, with a pretty nice touch of chocolate/toffee, coffee, chicory, vanilla, licorice. The taste is pretty nice, malty, hoppy, very nice touch of chocolate, toffee, coffee, chicory, pretty nice vanilla, licorice. Medium Body, ABV is hidden very nicely. Overall, this is a pretty tasty beer.

Ever since the awakening of Cerebral at the most recent FOBAB, I have been on the look out. Was able to get this stout shipped out and it was pretty solid. Lots of lactose and coffee which is all in the name. The chicory dryness is prevalent as well. It could use a bit of complexity to push it to another level.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque in the glass with a thin khaki head that dissipates to patches with slight lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, drip coffee, bakers chocolate and chicory; coffee dominant. Flavor is dark toasted malt with light char, drip coffee, chicory and a hint of vanilla. Vanilla offee finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. No mistaking the coffee in this one, it is like a semi-sweet big mug of coffee with a some stout added to it. The chicory is an interesting additional flavor. I did not know this was a NOLA tradition, I always have had chicory as a coffee substitute. However the flavors mesh quite nicely. The roasty flavor of the malt also fit with the coffee well. A little more malt to coffee ratio would a been more balanced for a stout, but overall I enjoyed this quite a bit. A well made capital C Coffee stout.
