In our first go-round in the Olympic Village with the supreme athletes at Horus Aged Ales, we brewed Peace Be the Journey, an unaged Imperial Coffee Stout with Jamaican Coffee...but like the Jamaican Bobsled team, that sleigh’s potential was greatly underestimated. The damn thing was out the gate and down the track before we had time to say ein, zwei, drei! We took that same base beer and tucked it into a fresh crop of 9-year-old Tennessee Whisky barrels for 19 months before adding 25lbs of toasted coconut to each oak barrel (Yeah, we’re still talking each individual barrel here, folks). Notes of treacle molasses tart, almond joy, marzipan and butt-whippin' time!
