A:
Pours a clearish ruddy gold with a thin little cap of bubbly off-white head that all but disappears, some scummy lacing. (3.5)

S:
Sweet red fruits and toasted malt/earthy, dirty hops. (3.5)

T:
Burnt toast, strawberry jam, black tea. (3.5)

M:
Lightish body with prickly, fine carbonation, and a lingering finish. (3.5)

O:
Tasty, well-made beer.
Everything is on the same page and it has a very direct aroma and flavor. That of having strawberry jam on burnt toast and tea with an old British lady. I heard it described that way so I hope my judgment isn't clouded, but damned if the way it looks in the glass ain't the only thing that doesn't resemble well-toasted, crusty wheat bread with homemade jam all over it. I wonder if there is Barbe Rouge in this or if I am just easily influenced. Hopefully it is the former.
Would have again; enjoyable beer. (3.75)

Sampled at the NH Brewers Fest 7/25/2015
Hazy pale golden color. Astringent grassy muddled hop aroma and flavor with a sharp toffee caramel maltiness. One of very few dumps today.

I got a chance to re sample this today 6/25/2017
Lots of citrus with a bready caramel malt backbone. Light astringency in the finish. Either the recipe or the process has changed because this is a pretty good pale ale and nothing like the first time I sampled it.

On tap at the Granite State Brewers Assn Summerfest. Sampled on July 25, 2015.

The pour is a slightly cloudy amber color with a modest lingering white head.

I pick up roasted pale malts and vanilla mainly on the nose. The hops are low profile.

Light to medium body. Smooth.

The sweetness in the taste was rather overwhelming and all I could think of were vanilla beans. I had no problem with that but that is what I got. It was easy to drink.

The Nye Hill Farm began operations in 1790! A year after the signing of the US Constitution. After all this time they have decided to start brewing and selling beer. But they have no set hours for their brewery so you might need to make an appointment.
