Poured into a glass mug, the appearance was a semi-thick dark brown color with a two finger off white foamy head that dissipated at a fair pace. Moderate sticky lace ran around the glass in a messy sort of way.
The aroma had some milk chocolate, earthy and grassy hops and a sweet candied bready character. Light anise with some nuts round out the edges.
The flavor was mostly sweet with a fair sticky sort of sweet grassy hoppiness. Mild bready to anise and earthy aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a mild sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt appropriate. Smooth nutty to earthy finish.
Overall, it's a pretty nice brown ale I'd be willing to have again.

Deep brown with faint ruby and a decent tan head. Caramel with a hint of brown sugar earth and chocolate. Nice for a brown ale.
