12oz undated can shows a deep, dark near black, brown body showing a ruby-tinged cola color when backlit. A proud 1/2" chestnut brown cap disappears and the glass remains clean.
Muted baker's chocolate aroma with notes of dark fruit ease into the flavor joined by what I can only imagine is coconut, but all are attenuated.
Full, oily feel clears that palate cleanly.
Overall a relatively basic stout heavy on the cocoa.

Taste: super intense, complex, rich darkest malts, sweet, coconut, smokey, smooth, bourbon boldness, boozy and thick. Bold wood oak notes sweet malty bourbon nose. Black/brown hue, mostly opaque, Solid to full body. Stick to your ribs sipper to be enjoyed. Tasty as hell.

12oz can, no apparent freshness date. Near black stout with a towering brown head; thick chunky lacing coats the glass. Aroma is coconut, cacao, vanilla but not a whole lot going on. Flavors are bigger: dark chocolate, cacao, coconut, lactose, roasted barley, caramel, nutty grain, toffee, and earthy hops. Insanely full body, carbonation puffs it up in the mouth, sweet but some bitterness along with a bit if tartness that creeps in on the finish. This was good; my only complaint is that odd tartness in the finish.

Had on tap. Brownish black with a tan head. Smell has toasted coconut, rye, smoke, bitter chocolate and ash in the nose. Taste is very roasty and robust flavored, with the coconut bringing in a nice brightness about two-thirds of the way through the sip. The issue is the body fails to sell the flavors, it is not robust or roasted, it is watery and undercutting in almost every way. Doesn't help it was had side by side with FW coconut merlin, a superior coconut stout
