500 ml bottle into a snifter. Released 6/17/22, had 9/17/22.

Pours near black and opaque, with a shimmer of a head and oily cling. Aromas of coconut, roasted malt, bourbon, chocolate, oak, char. Flavors are similar- coconut, bourbon, roasted malt, chocolate. Smooth, somewhat creamy, a solid full body, appropriately carbonated.

This is really well done and really enjoyable. Delicious coconut, prominent barrels and a solid base. One of their best BA efforts.

Beyond delicious, this beer hits all the sweet spots for me. A slightly creamy mouth feel coats the tongue with hints of coconut and strong chocolatey notes. The barrel aging adds flavor but also softens and melds the flavors remarkably well, creating a slightly sweet, rich beer that drinks amazingly well. Best when slightly warmer, I find this drinks better toward the end of the glass.

16.9oz bottle released 03/20
Inky black body oozes into a snifter, self levels to a headless pool, and leaves a clean glass behind.

Aromas of coconut and chocolate front the booze.

Taste matches with just enough coconut, cocoa, and oakey bourbon to allow for an equal appreciation of all.

The full, creamy feel is best at just below room temperature. At fridge temp this beer is tight, close, and ordinary, but with some warmth the creaminess explodes along with the bourbon.

Overall a great tasting, smooth drinking barrel aged imperial.
