Standing tall at 12% ABV, our contribution to the Black is Beautiful project is the result of careful blending of three different imperial stouts - one fresh, two bourbon barrel aged.

Shared in Green Bay from a 500 ml bottle. Pours opaque pitch black color with a thin tan cap and spotty lacing. Aromas and flavors of big dark chocolate, molasses, toffee, cocoa, bourbon, toasted oak, smoke, charcoal, wood, leather, tobacco, peppercorn, pine, herbal, grass, yeast earth. Medium pine/char bitter and spicy oak finish. Light-medium carbonation and full body. Very creamy/slick mouthfeel with lingering chalky roast and oak tannin drying after the finish. No cloying acrid astringency. Lingering booze of barrel. Very rich on malts, great barrel balance and complexity.

500 ml bottle into a snifter. Released 7/24/20, had 8/7/20.
Pours a dark brown, opaque, with a short, brief head and light cling. Aromas of bourbon, chocolate, roasted malt, some char, light oak and vanilla. The flavors follow the nose- bourbon, roasted malt, choc, some vanilla, some char and oak. There’s a light bitterness on the finish. Smooth, a good full body- but a little thinner for the style, well carbonated.
This is really good, only the touch of thinness as a negative. It’s actually better than the last few versions of Bell Witch. Solid effort.

Taste: complex, bold bourbon woody notes, dark toasted chocolate malts, smooth but will have alcohol give you a buzz. Vanilla and baker's chocolate oak and bourbon nose. Black hue, mostly opaque, tan delicate head and lace. Full to med/full body. Tasty.
