"Best by 7/14/22"; drank 6/8/22 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque dark brown appearance.
An even pour yielded a huge tan head; strong lace.
Brown sugar, fresh earth & faint wood notes in the nose.
Creamy, thick mouthfeel.
Fresh earth, cream & faint caramel flavors; booze heat emerged as this warmed.
A nice, robust doppelbock; one of the better Miskatonic beers I've had.

This is damn good. Dark chestnut color, billowing foam and ample lacing. Dry roasty aroma, initial hint of caramelized plantains. Rich flavor, nutty and chocolatey, light sweetness and moderate earthy hop bitterness. Full bodied and chewy, pillowy feel, supple carb level. Just so rich and silky, it’s delicious.

Opaque brown body with a tan head. Smell and taste are almost clones: toasted caramel malt, toasty yeast, nice lush dark malts, earth, tootsie roll, prune, black cherry hints as it warms, and then in taste only, a kiss of cola. Chewy and smooth on the surface, but when sipping this is surprisingly deep with heavier weight for the style without being out of control, artful even. This was surprisingly really nice! Perfect on a cold spring evening
