just my second beer ever from these guys, apparently made on contract for this restaurant, not a bad brew, caught my eye at the chicago airport during my travels and i pounded one down directly from the can with an egg sandwich in somewhat of a hurry to get to the gate, but it was refreshing, hearty enough, clean and patient seeming on the ferment, and with some more personality than i expected frankly, pretty good overall, and not savagely expensive as airport beers go. i wish i had time to try the ipa, next time for sure. nose is tight from the can and when its cold, faint metallics i suppose, but pretty clean really, minerals more than metals maybe, some breadiness to the grain, and only enough hops to crisp it up, good water profile and not cheap or adjuncty to me. the flavor is a little more robust, a light toast on the grain that i pick up, a light brassy thing, grassy noble-esque hop complexion, and an obvious lager yeast profile that brings this home. balanced and flavorful to me as these go, bold enough to stand up to greasy salty food, but also still refreshing and drinkable, i never gave it a chance to warm up, but ice cold it has plenty of character and i like the structure and bubbles. not epic beer or anything, but a neat little package that i would be happy to drink again, ahead of the curve for the context.
