Format: 75mL taster at Beervana 2014, served by the brewers.
Appearance: a brown/black in colour with ruby-brown highlights around the edges. A tin tan head with good retention.
Aroma: an intensely heavy nose of heavy fruits - plums and raisins - and sherry.
Taste: predominantly maraschino cherry, some sweet malts and a touch of sherry. Strong in flavour and nice complexity. Pretty good.
Aftertaste: those malts come through strong here with the sour cherries.
Mouth feel: moderate in both body and carbonation. A decent feel.
Overall: a very nice English Strong Ale - very full in flavour and with complex flavours. The second beer I have had from Galbraith's, and so far so very nice indeed.
