This year's Empress Rising: Red Wine has been aging for 11 months and is a careful blend of 2 first use and 2 fresh red wine barrels.
Pouring an oily black with a soft mocha head, Empress Rising: Red Wine explodes with the bold, rich notes of chocolate and coffee, coupled with the assertive tannins, leather and dark red fruits from the wine barrels.

Picked up four-16 oz cans from the brewery 2-17-23 for $30. Canned 11-3-22; consumed first can for review 2-17-23.
Beer poured black as night with a solid tan head with the original pour.
Nose was nice with a large medium roasted malt base absorbing the barrels and giving notes of dark fruits.
Taste is really well balanced with the large malt base giving notes of toffee and licorice with dark fruits blending in nicely. Adequatlely hopped along with the barrel balances out the large base very well.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth.
Overall an enjoyable beer, not overly nuanced, for a reasonable price. Will take to our next beer sharing event!

"Imperial Stout aged in bourbon barrels. Infused with chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon and chipotle, guajillo, and arbol peppers. Pours black and opaque with a rich mocha head. Notes of roast, soy sauce, and booze lead into the velvety, smooth mouth feel. The roasted flavor dominates with lingering toffee and booze notes through the sip." this s from a descrption on the web,This is the worst beer I have ever tried! Don't know what they were trying to Accomplish , but they put too many infusions in this beer . first sip was terrible. Had a different beer then took another sip. Still terrible . this is the first beer i can not give any rating to Should be a zero
