“Dollar Bird” brings our passion for “funk first” into an approachable form with a heavily hopped beer dosed with brettanomyces. A blend of all Southern Hemisphere hops shines through and compliments the dry, slightly funky finish.

Poured from an undated can into a snifter glass, 4 fingers of frothy head quickly rush to the brim. Fly$ is a gorgeous, hazy, pale golden color with pillowy white head with aromas of lemon, hay, and a faint bit of strawberry. A disorienting melange of flavors do battle across the palate, it’s two beers in one without any real harmony. On the front end is a satisfying IPA with notes of orange peel and bitter hops, while the back end is a very dry Brett saison. Overall, I’d say if you’re having a few beers in a night and want to switch it up, this would be a good one, but I don’t see myself having more than one in an evening.
