L: Poured from a tallboy can to a snifter glass. Had a dark brown / almost black color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was an inch and a half of foamy, tan-colored, long-lasting head. Pretty good lacing.
S: A decent enough, but not brilliant, aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, and coconut.
T: Tasted of bit of dark chocolate (less than expected, but still present), a tinge of vanilla (a fleeting ingredient), some coconut notes (quite sweet), and a lot of roasted malt (present throughout; a dominant ingredient). Like the aroma , the taste is solid, but it wasn't pushed far enough. Still, not bad.
F: A fair amount of carbonation with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.
O: An uneven beer, but it has its charms. Worth a try.
