Picked up a 16 oz single from the Blue Door Bottleshop in Hendersonville 9-1-22 for $4.00. Canned presumably in August, consumed 10-4-22.
Beer poured dark amber with a pretty good off white head.
Nose has slight hints of toasted malts.
Taste is a moderately toasted malt base that is balanced by noble hops. Finishes with a touch of sweetness i did not expect.
Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and fairly refreshing.
Overall a pretty good representation of the style.

16 oz. can
Clear darker amber, one finger beige head; full lacing curtains and surface cap with variegated carbonation.
Biscuit, brown bread, toffee, BFS yeast aromas
Biscuit, hops are more prominent In the taste, faint oaky note, light stone fruit;
Well carbonated, well balanced. Not among the sweet Marzens. Dry enough to drink in quantity.
Lacks the depth of malt flavor of the best Marzens, but looks good with no glaring flaws. Interesting label design with a shout-out to Riverbend Malt House.

Look: It pours dark amber and is very clear. It has a tan head and head retention is excellent.
Smell: It is malty rich with aromas of caramel and some bready biscuit in the background. It also has a light fruitiness in the background.
Taste: It has plenty of malty caramel flavors with some light biscuit in the background. It has cherry flavors at a medium low level. There are very light bread crust notes.
Feel: It has a medium body. It does finish a bit sweet.
Overall, I like the flavors and aromas of the beer, but this is not like most typically Marzen’s in that it focuses on the caramel flavors and there is a cherry element to it. This beer is rated as the way I like it, not for fitting in the Marzen category.
