Fashionably Late is a nice looking beer. Pretty typical for a pale ale. A slightly tarnished bronze body with a touch of murkiness throughout. A handsome, clean white foam reaches a finger plus in height on the pour and although it fades after a handful of minutes it leaves some intricate, lacework down the glass.
Big, juicy grapefruit juice kicks it off. It's pure. There's a drizzle of orange marmalade in there but freshly squeezed grapefruit juice steals the show. This beer seemed a little green off the bat but a little air blows that vegetal quality right off. Sugar cookie and graham cracker make up a nice malt profile for that assertive grapefruit hoppiness.
This beer is citrus off the bat, again. It's not all grapefruit this time though. There's an even mix of grapefruit and orange flesh. A touch of peel mixed in here and there with a sprinkle of brown sugar. The malt base is made up of that same softly sweet sugar cookie and graham cracker. It's all complimentary but not as vibrant as the nose led on.
The body is moderate in weight. Active carbonation brings forth a frothiness that works well. The bitterness gets started immediately and continually grows with each drink. It leaves a long, lingering bitter finish with a moderate dryness on the swallow. This is a drinkable beer for sure.
This is a decent beer from the folks at Radium City. It leans heavily toward your old school hop presence of citrus, grapefruit and orange. The nose is bright and vibrant and while it dies down a bit after that it's still a fine beer. I would probably pass this one up in the future but have no regrets in trying it and will enjoy the rest of the bottle.

Aroma is floral, citrus and spices. The flavor is citrus, biscuit malts, earthy in the middle, fruit and a mix of dry, slight bitterness and hops in the finish.
