Poured from 16oz can obtained at the brewery into a dimpled mug. Canned on 12/9/22.
Appearance: rich amber hue with a clear body and a light effervescence; head is a thick finger of frothy dark-ivory foam. The color is quite pretty.
Smell: lightly sweet malt with a hint of biscuit and an earthy hop aroma; a perfectly reasonable example of the style.
Taste: slightly fruity, with a sweet and bready malt character and just a little bit of caramel sweetness. Bitterness is moderate, with a pretty balanced character overall. Not bad, though perhaps a little sweet for my taste when it comes to this style.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: this is a very "liquid bread" kind of a beer; I imagine it best quaffed with a ploughman's lunch of summer sausage and hard cheese.
