Poured from 16oz can obtained at the brewery into a dimpled mug. Canned 1/3/23.
Appearance: rich, dark color that is black through the middle and brown around the edges. Head is a finger of frothy tan foam; it looks good!
Smell: slightly sweet malt with a nice roasty element and a bit of a chocolate character. It's rather yeasty as well, which isn't necessarily bad; it lends kind of a creamy kind of an idea.
Taste: a little bit sweeter than the aroma suggested, but again with a good roasty character that adds kind of a dryness to the finish. That creaminess/yeastiness is there too, which is not too bad.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and creaminess; I dig it.
Overall: not a bad beer at all; it's got a rich texture and, while it's a bit sweet, I'm enjoying it.
