Pours a lovely dark coppery red with abundant foam in the chalice. Interesting aroma of citrus and pine. Sudsy and lively on the tongue. Some malty sweetness. The rye flavor is quite substantial, and goes well with the red ale theme. Some roasted grain flavors, a resiny kick, and long rich finish. Spicy and hoppy, an inviting combination, with adequate bitter aftertaste. This is really quite a tasty big beer with loads of flavor. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station.
