2/4/17 at the brewery. Pours gold with thin head. No aroma to speak of. Taste is pretty standard blone, green, hoppy with a little cheese. Feel is good. A decent execution of the style.

7/25...brewery fresh growler. Pours bright golden ale color with very low foam. Modestly malty nose, notes of grains. Bready. Chewy malt taste, toffee backed hop. Firm back bone. Soft bodied, and flavorful. Great starter on the sampler, and holds up nicely in the growler. Solid beer.

DATE: May 8, 2016... OCCASION: kicking back on a fun Mother’s Day while watching the Cavs try to close out the Hawks, broomstick style... GLASSWARE: HopDevil nonick... APPEARANCE: slightly hazy, light amber body that comes out of the growler (filled hours earlier) with a quick flourish of off-white, fizzy head...the head stays around, adding a layer to the appearance... glass drain is sporadic... AROMA: light hops, inciting tropical fruit/lemon grass... some earthiness present; the malts are doughy and pleasant... PALATE: bubbly, smooth and thin--not an insult, given the style, but rather swift to the throat without much texture... a bit throaty, with malts late... TASTE: light tropical fruitiness to start, with slight suggestions of hops at the teeth... light lemon and flowery accents make this an easy-drinking, lightly expressive and malty like a lager at its finish... OVERALL: a fragrant, sessionable beer that smoothly refreshes... it lacks the zest of other blonds, and offers no wrinkles to the formula, but fresh and local means a lot in this context....
