DATE: July 23, 2021...OCCASION: we kick off the annual summer trip to Jer's with an easy drinker following our dinner at Otto's... GLASSWARE: HopShop willibecker... a dark mahogany body with minimal bubbles poured from an hours-old growler...head is off-white and a reasonable consistency, frothing to a halo... caramel, rye, pepper, thick bread malts and lilac make for an agreeable introduction... buttery smooth yet lively enough to engage... dry at the finish, encouraging the next sip... medium-bodied despite its ABV... mellow and sweet, with its caramel, melon, rye and nuttiness balance nicely--as advertised, a beer that would fit in well with a variety of events, settings and foods... the style is still illusive to me, but it is an enjoyable companion for a night of Wii and family...
