DATE: October 7, 2018... OCCASION: Browns snap a 36-week drought an win on a Sunday--against the Ravens, no less... GLASSWARE: Duvel tulip... bought this a week ago at the brewery, looking to build up my list of Man Skirt brew ratings... this pours a dark amber, almost brown body teeming with bubbles... a creamy, reasonably thick off-white head settles with coral arcs upward... this one attacks with thick, dank hops that evoke plum, mango, pungent yeast, toasted rye bread, and sweet malts that suggest raspberry cake or charcoal mash... creamy, warming, and dry--a beer that works more at the throat than at the teeth--in fact, it's like a bourbon that lost its strength, going down a lo more agreeably... suggests a cognac or a rum, but without the sting of a higher ABV offering... in short, this is a worthy flagship, a DIPA that appeals to the less hop-heavy palates,,,
