DATE: December 27, 2018... OCCASION: celebrating the completion of the eight scotches of Game of Thrones--I was either very good this year, or very lucky!... GLASSWARE: Samuel Smith tuliped pint... I took this to a dinner date last weekend, and it went down so smoothly, I had to return to it before it was gone--and Joe himself warned me that will be soon! Its initial pour is a coal-black body with a slowly settling two-fingered head of light brown, creamy head... a tremendous eruption of chocolate is present--warming and rounded, like pudding--with sweet lactic aroma as well..... slight toffee gives way to more than a fair share of roasted coffee--this beer is much bigger than its 6% ABV... and is there a hint of tobacco?! Its body likewise is no pushover, with a thick, lingering impact that lasts well into my third exhale... chewy like a well-hopped IPA, yet smooth at the throat... the flavor profile is chocolate pudding, sweet milk, roasted coffee, appreciable maltiness, toffee, some citrus spike and booziness... this could be the best offering from Man Skirt to date--front to back, a dynamic, drinkable flavorful experience that sips well...
