DATE: August 2, 2020... OCCASION: poolside at Gil and Becky's after a fruitful trip to Frank's games and a good run... GLASSWARE: Negro Modelo plastic.... pours a dark golden orange body that sends sparse bubbles upward... its head is effervescent, white and frothing into a bubbly, splotchy surface... as its can suggests, new-mown hay, lemon zest, and lightly toasted cracker--the stuff of easy-drinking... corn, honey and a spritzy, zesty, bubbly mouthfeel invigorates, as its light-bodied presence comes and goes without a pause... sharp and crisp, suggesting a noble hop presence... its finish holds to its cracker and sweet cereal malts... mellow hay, corn, pear, and lemon mellow this to an easy-drinking, mildly engaging table beer... better than the sum of its parts, this indeed strikes the right refreshment with a bit of flavor as well, with a crisp, welcoming draw and a smooth finish... perfect for the shore, and perhaps a beer that accompanies a slow or easy day, flexible and pleasant... another winner from Man Skirt...my only contention is that it's not creamy...

Canned on 6/22/2020. Poured into a pint glass. It pours a slightly hazy, golden-straw color with a thin, creamy, bright-white cap that dissipated rapidly leaving a small amount of creamy lacing. On the nose there is sweet corn and whiffs of lemon and spices. Initially, the taste is dry with with hints of lemon peel. But as it warms a bit the malt bill provides a subdued creamy sweetness. It's not overly sweet but is nicely balanced. There is a hint of spice at the finish. The mouth feel is lite, crisp, and refreshing with a pleasant level of carbonation, and at 5.5% ABV it's crushable on a hot day. Overall, Ride On is a tasty rendition of a style that few brewers take the time make these days. It's ideal for the beach or any outdoor summer activity and would delightfully accompany a burger, hot dog or sausage.
