DATE: August 8, 2020... OCCASION: celebrating forty-four pretty good years on Earth with X-Men II and the family... GLASSWARE: Man Skirt willibecker... pours a rich, golden body rich with bubbles that builds a thick, craggy, white, two-inch head--attractive... Sorachi, front and center, with its peppery pleasure and a light floral scent... some orange peel, earthiness, and wisps of wheat as well... its body is an ale/wheat hybrid, staunch at its back end, vibrant at the teeth and comfortable in between... as the tagline says, very easy-drinking.... its flavor profile is orange, pepper, and cracker malts... it's a hybrid all right, refreshing and playful...

 

Canned on 5/6/2020 so 4 day's old when reviewed. Poured into a Man Skirt tulip glass. It pours hazy, bright honey-orange with a creamy, bright white cap and extensive lacing. The smell is all Wit: wheat cracker, lemon peel, and floral hops. I first sip this beer is hard to describe. It has a solid backbone of wheat cracker and there's abundant tart lemon. There's also notes of coriander from the Sorachi Ace hops. But there's also a white wine quality from the Wakatu hops. The Sorachi adds a dose of bitterness at the finish. I don't think I've tasted anything quite like this but it's really good! The mouth feel is fairly creamy with pleasant carbonation, and at 6% ABV it's extremely drinkable. I have to say this is an imaginative and really good beer. If Man Skirt calls it an IPA, then fine by me. This is one of the best beers they've brewed!
