Follow the Red Brick Road! You're off to see the wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Hops! Malt forward but not sweet, the bright Elani hops give you notes of tropical and stone fruits. Inspired by the red brick crosswalks in our home here in Hackettstown, this Red IPA is well worth crossing the street for. And when you do, tell the brewer no one calls him the Wizard of Hops.

DATE: May 31, 2026... OCCASION: Quiz Bowl Nationals behind--and having just finished the Family/Friends KMO with the boys--time to enjoy a cold one in celebration... pours a dark, mahogany reddish brown body whose opaqueness is attractive... its head quickly clings, forming a thick coral ring fencing in the clear glass with cream-colored lace... off to a great start! caramel and toffee, oats and toast, rye and pungent citrus suggest this is the offspring of a few styles... its body suggests ESB, with a buttery, creamy swiftness throughout the draw.... early, definite bite at the teeth... its finish is perfumed, a release of esters that can be felt... chewy for an IPA, its malts impart a breadlike attitude...too often, style confusion makes for a well-intentioned mess, but here, it rewards with punchy lemon, grapefruit, and grapefruit, doughy yeastiness, muted pine, and generates a rather unique profile without sacrificing common sense...plus, referencing H'town's crosswalks is genius...
