Our line of Imperial Milk Stouts is a culmination of our love for the finest ingredients and the highest quality beer out in the market. The Devout series is a direct result of our passion and respect for tradition, an homage to flavor and aroma. This Horchata variant is no different; the nose displays rich and powerful notes of coffee and vanilla. Its full body is exceedingly smooth, teeming with flavors of sweet vanilla, a soft tinge of cinnamon and a deliciously roasted bitterness. The coffee lingers beside a nice warmth, with a dry, refreshing smoothness in the finish. Fantastic with red meats, a hearty red chili and tangy BBQ dishes, or even as dessert following a meal.

A: Pours an opaque yet still clear jet black in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising quickly along the edges of the glass and faint dark cola brown + dark chestnut brown colored highlights. The beer has a finger tall dense sudsy foamy dark tan head that reduces to a large patch of very thin film covering a little more than 75% of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of coffee and vanilla over the top of moderate aromas of dark + roasted malts with moderate amounts of lactose sweetness. Light aromas of cinnamon. A very sweet aroma.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of dark + roasted malts with moderate amounts of lactose sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of coffee and vanilla. Finally there is a light flavor of cinnamon. Hints of roasty bitterness towards the finish but sweet vanilla + coffee flavors linger.
M: Slightly heavier than medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol. Enjoyable but sweet - definitely more of a dessert beer and a slow sipper. Decent amounts of complexity without being over-spiced.

A: The beer is essentially jet black in color - only slight traces of dark red are visible near the edges of the glass. It poured with a narrow collar of off white bubbles around the edge of the glass and some patches of bubbles on the surface.
S: Light aromas of dark malts, coffee and vanilla are present in the nose along with hints of cinnamon.
T: Moderate aromas of coffee beans are present in the nose along with notes of vanilla and hints of cinnamon.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I really enjoyed the spices in this coffee stout as these weren't overdone and added to the complexity of the beer.

12oz canned on 12-27-18 (opened 2-2-18)
1" beige head on a mostly black stout with brown edges. Head falls to a cap quickly but sticks at a cap.
A touch of coffee and cinnamon on first sniff. Sweet cream. Nice aroma.
Nice flavors of vanilla, cinnamon, coffee - good balance between so many ingredients. Bitter chocolate. Cigar/spice box flavors late. Touch of sweetness in the finish - lingering and maybe too much?
Full bodied and rich mouthfeel. Long finish - subtle coffee late.
