This IPA was not born in Texas but it got here as quickly as it could! Saddle Up! is brewed in the style of San Diego IPAs, generously dry hopped with Belma, Cashmere, and Strata varietals. This hop blend delivers berry and citrus on the nose, and dank, juicy melon in flavor. This result is a clear, bright golden color from the Pilsner malt base that finishes crisp and dry. Saddle Up! is a perfectly balanced hop showcase for all IPA lovers.

12oz canned 7-5-24, opened 10-11-24. Purchased at the brewery on 10-10-24.
1 finger white head with good retention, hangs out at 1/2" for a good amount of time.
Pale golden body with good clarity. Ample lacing.
Aromas of berry, mint, lemon/lime.
Candied orange - muted.
Light body, medium carbonation with a moderately bitter and dry finish.
Good.
Had on draught 10-10-24, showed way better than the packaged version.

This little ditty from 3 Nations does not appear to be getting the respect from my fellow BA raters that it deserves, in my opinion. I find the Saddle-Up IPA to be quite a tasty beer.

Pours a very light golden color. Unexpected, but not not unattractive. Not much head and very little lace. The nose is where things begin to get interesting, though. Earthy but sweet smelling. Vanilla. Caramel. Heavy cream. Fruity, but difficult to discern what's there exactly. The taste follows suit, but with more bitterness. Piney aftertaste. The mouthfeel is crisp up front but finishes smooth and clean. So nice.

I haven't had many 3 Nations beers. And, honestly, Carrollton, TX is not known as a bastion of fine craft beer. But it's nice to discover something unexpected like this when you're least expecting it. Kudos to the team at 3 Nations. Keep 'em coming.

This was the last of a bunch of single cans that I picked up at the H-E-B in Lubbock, Texas when down that way a few months back. Only had one other beer from these guys before, and this was on par with it as it was true to style and reminiscent of something from the left coast.

Not much about this stood out, however. Golden, translucent, and topped off with more than enough head, well-defined rings of lacing remained as I worked my way through this, as each one easily bled down into the next. A few fine bubbles and bits of sediment were in the liquid, although I didn't see those as deterrents. Exotic hops, dank blue and gooseberry, and a hint of melon were in the muted nose as they were much more prevalent on the palate. A bit of floral citrus and wheat emerged once this fully warmed up, as it had a bit more complexity to it than I was led to believe.

Full-bodied with just enough carbonation, I thought this would be more bitter as it was hard to discern any notable burn. Although I had no idea when this was canned, this seemed to be a Texas take on something from the left coast that wasn't quite like what I became accustomed to from there. Dank and a bit tangy from the citrus in the back, this had me wishing that I had picked up one more, just to get a better read on it...
