This white stout is a collaboration with Mikkeller brewed with vanilla, coffee, and smoked malt. It tastes like a toasted marshmallow.

A: The beer is hazy dark brownish red in color. It poured with a short white head that quickly died down, leaving a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of smoked malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of iodine along with notes of toasted marshmallows.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The toasted marshmallows in this beer is a novel concept, but it seems like it could have been better balanced and have less aromas and flavors of smoked malts and iodine.

A: 16 oz can poured into a Teku. Opaque amber/mahogany in color. Two finger, frothy white head that eventually subsided into ring around the glass. Minimal to no lacing.
S: Roasted malt, coffee, vanilla.
T: Subtle chocolate, roastiness, hints of vanilla, lactose. A little sweeter then I was expecting.
F: Smooth, creamy, medium mouthfeel. Minimal carbonation.
O: An Imperial White Stout. Those words alone make you look twice at the label, but Casita Cerveceria has another winner here. A unique and satisfying beer. Full of flavor. Doesn't drink like a 10%. I couldn't be more thrilled to have these brewed here in NC. The label art is an added bonus.

A: Pours a clear deep mahogany in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and moderate dark garnet red + chestnut brown colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense foamy light beige head that slowly reduces to a large patch of mottled very thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of freshly brewed coffee and vanilla over the top of moderate aromas of lightly roasted + chocolate malts with a moderate amount of lactose sweetness. Light aromas of smoked malts.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of lightly roasted + toasted + caramel + chocolate malts with moderate amounts of lactose sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of freshly brewed coffee and vanilla. Finally there is a light to moderate flavor of smoked malts towards the finish. Hints of roasty bitterness fades away quickly leaving a sweet, smokey flavor lingering.
M: Medium to full bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth and creamy with a hint of dryness in the finish.
O: Very enjoyable and quite easy to drink with well hidden alcohol considering the strength. Reminds me of Woke Up Like This but with a little less roasty presence and the addition of smoked malts. I would definitely have another of these.
