Sample at Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2018, Yellow Session. Aroma is quite basic with orange rind and hop resin. Taste is malty and resiny with some sweet orange rind flavor, quite classic.

Cloudy but not murky. Deep orange gold color with a dense, creamy off white head. Smells very fruity with hints of pineapple and orange. Nice malty sweet smell and a hint of piney hops. First sip is a nice balance of bitter and sweet with the pine and pith bitterness winning out in the end. The sweetness is a faint caramel and mostly pineapple, orange and grapefruit. Lots of carbonation and a medium body make for a creamy beer. The 8% is hidden well. This is a really nice beer.

A: Pours a relatively clear medium to dark golden honey in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and moderate burnt orange + copper + dark golden yellow colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense sudsy foamy very light beige head that slowly reduces to large patch of finger thick film covering the entire surface of the beer with a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of tropical/pineapple, tropical/papaya, citrus/grapefruit, citrus/orange, and citrus/grapefruit pith hops over the top of moderate aromas of biscuit + caramel + toasted malts with a moderate amount of caramel sweetness.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of biscuit + caramel + toasted malts with a moderate amount of caramel sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of tropical/pineapple, tropical/papaya, citrus/grapefruit, citrus/orange, pine/resin, and citrus/grapefruit pith hops which impart a light to moderate amount of bitterness which does not linger for too long along with tropical fruit hop flavors that linger well through the finish.
M: Slightly heavier than medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Hints of dryness in the finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and enjoyable. A nice classic DIPA with a really nice combination of hop flavors and aromas. I would definitely grab this one again.

Appearance: Pours a hazy amber color with a one finger head; nice retention and lacing all around
Smell: Papaya, pine and pith
Taste: Papaya forward with onion and pith tones; somewhat piney, through the middle, with bold bitterness developing; the onion is rather strong in the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation
Overall: Given that this was a collaboration the The Answer, this beer was generating some local buzz and I really wanted to like it more than I did; I am sensitive to onion tones in IPAs and this is not to my taste

Hazy orange with a tall foamy off-white head that sticks beautifully. Oily fruity hop nose...pineapple, grapefruit, orange, and apricot. Bold juicy fruit hops in the flavor as well, but maintaining a more sticky, clean, "regular" IPA style. A little bread but it doesn't interfere with the hops. Medium bodied, moderately bitter with a dry finish. I like it.
