Kingdom of Clouds Double IPA is made with loads of oats! We hopped this beer aggressively in the kettle with Simcoe and Equinox before two additional rounds of dry hopping with Simcoe, Equinox, Citra, and Amarillo. We tried a new yeast strain with this beer, and we are THRILLED with the results!

Not as much a cloudy NE IPA as the name suggests. Much more West Coast than NE. Solid though for a West Coast IPA. But could hide the alcohol a little better.

Hazy orange-gold topped with a dense lumpy head that isn't going anywhere fast. Fragrant floral hop oils at first in the nose...grapefruit, dried pineapple, faint leafy dankness. Fruity hop flavor: mangoes, berries, and oranges with some piney/herbal qualities in the background. Colorful yeast character adds an interesting dimension to the beer. Somewhat creamy medium body with a dry finish - drinks lighter than expected. Solid.

A: Pours a medium to dark golden honey in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and moderate medium golden yellow + faint burnt orange colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense sudsy foamy off-white head that slowly reduces to a medium sized patch of medium thick film surrounded by a large patch of mottled very thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to heavy amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of juicy citrus/grapefruit, citrus/grapefruit zest, tropical/pineapple, tropical/papaya, and tropical/mango hops over the top of light to moderate aromas biscuit + oat malts with a hint of caramel malt sweetness.
T: Upfront there are just shy of moderate flavors of biscuit + oat malts with a hint of caramel malt sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of juicy citrus/grapefruit, citrus/grapefruit zest, tropical/pineapple, tropical/papaya, and tropical/mango hops with a light amount of herbal hops. There is a minimal amount of bitterness which fades away very quickly leaving lingering juicy + herbal hops flavors.
M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Soft and fluffy with a hint of dryness in the finish
O: Another really enjoyable offering from Casita Cerveceria - easy to drink with very well hidden alcohol. Really enjoyable hop flavors + aromas over just enough malt sweetness and a fluffy mouthfeel. Excellent.
