for me the overly dry hopped hazy beers have worked better at low abv ranges, as simple pales and session type ipas, they have been clunky, hop burny, and very sweet at higher strengths in my experience, so i was really surprised and impressed by this one, it drinks light and balanced for how strong it is, there is grain character to work with the hops, but it doesnt feel dense or hot, and it really is very good, scary easy to drink though, look out! starchy brassy look to it, some obvious body and nice head from the tap. tons of hops in the nose and the taste, honey and dried flowers there, a weedy oiliness and resinous hashy sort of dankness. i think the use of simcoe is great here, too often these styles rely on the tropical fruitiness or heavy citrus of the new wave hops, and they arent complete enough, the green bitterness of this, the northwestern high alpha element of the simcoe, really gives this some needed hop intensity that isnt all dry hops, at least in comparison to many of its peers. sure the galaxy is there, and its awesome and fresh and like pineapple and papaya and green grape, but the simcoe makes this for me. sturdy feeling without being heavy, wheaty in the malt base, a tad unrefined, but i liked its balance a lot. good carbonation too and no hop burn for how bold it is, smooth and oddly drinkable, hardly a trace of the alcohol either. really tasty beer, impressive at this strength, super well done. need more from these guys!

Came a hazed kind of auburn color with a full on one finger head that settled nicely into a frothy mass.Big mango and overripe pineapple sugar sweet notes in the nose, there is a sweetish caramel biscuit note underneath making for a sweeter but appetizing nose.True to the new style tropical fruits abound on the palate with sweet mango really standing out,a slight sharp/resin quality comes thru in the finish, there is somewhat sweet doughy base that lends to the tropical fruits. The body was smooth as all get out wich made the beer very enjoyable to drink...That's why I ordered a second.

A: Pours a murky medium to dark golden honey orange in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate burnt orange + dark golden yellow colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense sudsy foamy white head that reduces to a large patch of slightly mottled very thin film surrounded by a thin ring. Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of juicy tropical/mango, tropical/passionfruit, citrus/grapefruit, and citrus/tangerine hops over the top of moderate aromas of caramel + biscuit + oat malts with moderate amounts of honey-like sweetness.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of caramel + biscuit + oat malts with moderate amounts of honey-like sweetness. That is followed by strong flavors of juicy tropical/mango, tropical/passionfruit, citrus/grapefruit, and citrus/tangerine hops which impart minimal amounts of bitterness which fade away almost instantly leaving lingering moderate tropical fruit hop flavors.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Soft/fluffy mid-body and hints of dryness in the finish.
O: Drinks really easily considering the strength (10% ABV) and how well hidden that alcohol is, especially when compared with comparable Triple NEIPAs from places like Veil. Sweet but not overly so with a really pleasant mouthfeel and a wonderful hop profile. Delicious and possibly the best Casita non-stout I have had.
