Collaboration with New Anthem Beer Project
Friendly Advice is the follow up to Asking for a Friend that we brewed down at New Anthem a few months back. For this beer we went with a base of Maris Otter and a large addition of flaked rye. We hopped the beer over and over with a blend of Simcoe and Mosaic.
Brewed with Maris Otter, honey malt, and flaked rye. Hopped with Simcoe and Mosaic.

A: Pours a significantly hazy medium golden honey in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising quickly along the edges of the glass and moderate medium bright orange + burnt orange + bright yellow + dark golden yellow colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense sudsy foamy (almost creamy) light beige head that slowly reduces to a couple of medium sized patches of medium thick film surrounded by a large patch of very thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of juicy tropical/pineapple, tropical/mango, citrus/orange, and berry hops with a light to moderate aroma of pine resin hops. Light to moderate aromas of slightly spicy rye malts as well as moderate aromas of biscuit + caramel + honey malts with a light to moderate amount of caramel + honey sweetness.
T: Upfront there are just shy of moderate flavors of biscuit + caramel + honey malts with a light to moderate amount of caramel + honey sweetness as well as light flavors of slightly spicy rye malts. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of juicy tropical/pineapple, tropical/mango, citrus/orange, and berry hops with a light to moderate aroma of pine resin hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which fades away fairly quickly leaving lingering tropical + citrus + pine hop flavors.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp initially with a slightly soft mid-body and a light amount of dryness in the finish.
O: Easy to drink with relatively well hidden alcohol. Nice sweetness, decent mouthfeel, and very pleasant hop profile make this one quite enjoyable.

CANNED ON 10/29/2018
Hazy orange with a soft looking head of off-white foam. Fragrant citrus, pineapple juice, and pine resin. Oily dank mosaic notes upfront in the flavor...berries, OJ, pineapple gummies. Bold fruity hop profile that leads to a bit of a clingy sweetness. Frothy medium body, a little dry, but feels every bit of 7.8%. Solid.
