From a 16 oz. into a PAA Dino glass, it flows out a slick dark brown before being consumed by over two fingers worth of bellowing light caramel colored crown and forms in the glass much more black.
Nose brings rich and roasty dark malts. Burnt brownie edges, tamed coffee.
The taste brings in a huge hazelnut presence, probably the most I’ve ever had in a stout, mixing with chocolate and roasted malts. A coffee is present throughout, as well as creamer (vanilla, caramel)
Sticky with sweetness but not necessarily thick. I would put it in the medium category on body. Lower, almost still carbonation. Warming sensation grows in the chest the deeper in you dive.
Overall, it’s enjoyable.

Sampling a cellar temp 16oz can poured into my snifter. Part of a recent trade with @Krubes, Thanks!
the beer pours a deep black coffee color with small tan head of 1 cm even after a fairly aggressive pour. The foam fades to a sturdy edge layer soon after pouring but this remains throughout the sampling.
the aroma is some roasted malt and a good amount of hazelnut and some cracker or toasted grain note too. This is sort of like a nut spread cracker or cookie. Some sweet brown sugar and coffee grounds too, all makes for a pretty complex malty profile. No tip off for the 12.5% ABV at this point and no hop notes either.
First sip reveals a pretty thick body with very fine textured carbonation that lightly tickles my palate with each mouthful. Texture is smooth and silky, all combines for a pleasing physical experience on this beer.
Flavor is rich and malty and fairly sweet, but not overpowering. I get some sweet chocolate, roasted malt and coffee grounds with a bit of brown sugar and some of the cracker and toasted notes too. The finish lingers sweet and this is where the hazelnut comes through on the flavor profile. This is definitely a sweeter beer that hides its ABV. Im really glad to have tried this one and would look for it again if I were travelling around NC. Very Nice!

A: Pours an opaque yet still clear thick viscous jet black in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising quickly along the edges of the glass and faint dark cola brown + chestnut brown + garnet red colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense foamy dark tan head that reduces to a medium sized patch of very thin film and a very thin ring at the edges of the glass. Minimal amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of rich sweet dark chocolate + nutty + roasted + dark + caramel malts with moderate to strong amounts of lactose + caramel sweetness. Strong aromas of hazelnut + freshly brewed coffee.
T: Upfront there are just shy of strong flavors of rich sweet dark chocolate + nutty + roasted + dark + caramel malts with moderate to strong amounts of lactose + caramel sweetness. That is followed by strong flavors of hazelnut + freshly brewed coffee. Moderate amounts of roasty bitterness which slowly fades away leaving lingering sweet chocolate + hazelnut flavors.
M: Just shy of full bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol though a sweet dessert-like stout. Enjoyable with a really nice combination of coffee + chocolate + hazelnut aromas + flavors.
